Retro bet site attacked – customers lose out
retro-bet.com, a site which allows users to place bets on historical events, has reportedly been attacked by a hacker, resulting in customers losing out on money they put down on bets.
The site has been inaccessible since the attack was carried out, with the hacker thought to have gained access to users' accounts and stolen their money.
One customer, who wished to remain anonymous, told us: "I've lost over £1,000 in total – it's devastating. I placed a number of bets on different events and now I've got nothing to show for it."
A spokesperson for retro-bet.com said that the company was "working hard to resolve the situation as quickly as possible", but did not give any further details about what had happened or how long it would take to fix the issue.
This is not the first time that retro-bet.com has been hit by an attack – in January of this year, the site was shut down for two days after suffering a similar breach.
